Voordat je een grey wash aanbrengt, maak je eerst het hout schoon. Door het hout te borstelen met een harde borstel verwijder je vuil. Daarna kun je het hout schuren zodat het helemaal schoon is. Hoe meer lagen je aanbrengt, hoe dieper de kleur van de black wash wordt. Naast het feit dat je een mooie kleur aanbrengt op het hout, heeft de washing nog meer voordelen. Een washing werkt ook vuil- en waterafstotend en daardoor heb je langer plezier een meubel met een washing! Hoe breng je de black wash aan? Voordat je de black wash aanbrengt, moet je het hout borstelen met een harde borstel. Hiermee verwijder je vuil. Daarna schuur je het op. Vervolgens breng je één of meerdere lagen van de washing aan.
